hid headlights

I was looking at some hid headlight pictures and they go from yellow all the way to purple. I was wondering if those are street legal.

I think any color, from yellow to purple would be fine for a headlight assembly, and I am pretty sure they would be legal as well, but don't you think that will confuse other drivers? Just a thought though. It's great raising that point mate.
