I hope someone can help me with this..cause it has me and my mom's bf mind boggled..I admit im not the greatest mechanic..and he doesn't know much about foreign cars..but to the point...its stock 89 240..and we replaced the head gasket due to what we were told when we bought it..well when we were taking it apart..we found the timing chain guild broke..and the chain wore a hole and water was getting into the engine..well we fixed it all and everything..put it back together..and now it doesn't want to idle..it doesn't smoke until you rev it...then white smoke pours out..and we can't seem to get it in time..we replaced the old head with one in better condition and tighter springs..my mom's bf things the pistons aren't comin all the up..we've yet to test this..but i would really like some suggestions and sorry you guys just read a novel

I had the same problem, but mine were the injectors. The small seals were bad n gas was leaking into the engine? n through exhaust pipes. Smoked upped the whole block. Got the injectors done and so far so good.
